Craig Wright has filed a new claim in the High Court in London against the Bitcoin Core developers, seeking damages of £911,050,000,000. He claims that the developers have misrepresented BTC as the original bitcoin and that Bitcoin SV is the true version, and the figure is based on the difference in market value between bitcoin and BSV.
The claim follows the COPA v Wright judgment earlier in 2024, in which Mr Justice Mellor found the evidence “overwhelming” that Wright is not the author of the Bitcoin White Paper and is not Satoshi Nakamoto. Wright now alleges that changes such as SegWit and Taproot depart from Satoshi’s original vision. COPA said it was confident the claim would be as unsuccessful as his previous ones, and Hodlonaut, who won a defamation case against Wright in Norway, criticised the new action.
